Hi Readers! I know I have been painfully absent from my blog these past few weeks, but April was a little busy. I was in a friend’s wedding in
last weekend and that wrapped up our crazy weekend touring for a little while. I am looking forward to just being lazy on a weekend with precious Oklahoma City Milo.
This is what happens when
Milo spends the weekend with his Grandpa. He is so tired for the next few days!
That being said I recently stumbled upon TheCaramelJar. It is an etsy.com shop featured in StayCalmCupcake’s giveaway. I know that StayCalmCupcake probably sounds familiar, because I have given away her cupcakes on a few occasions. You can check out her shop here. Unfortunately that giveaway is closed, but one of the items featured was a ½ lb Fleur de Sel caramels. I have had homemade caramels before and have been marginally impressed. These looked delicious so I had to try them.
Look how DELISH these look.
I only ordered a sample pack because I just wanted to try them to see if they were better than store bought or some that I have had at candy shops. You know how some caramels feel like they break your teeth because they are so tough and some feel like they pull them out because they are so sticky. I was hoping these were nothing like that.
They only took a couple of days to ship. I waited Friday morning until the mail ran because I was hoping the caramels would arrive before heading to OKC. I didn’t want to wait two more days to try them! Haha! Talk about impatient. Luckily the mail lady was right on time and delivered the caramels before we left. I opened the package in the car and was immediately surprised by how adorable they looked! They were wrapped in a brown paper bag and tied with a ribbon.
Look how cute these are!
Upon opening the bag I found the individually wrapped caramels in small squares of brown paper. It looked so nostalgic! And delicious I might add.
Love this wrapping!
I opened the first caramel and noticed how soft they were. It was not particularly warm outside so they weren’t melted, they were just soft. I was then worried that these being too sticky. I hate when candy feels like it is pulling your teeth, but one bite of these nuggets proved me COMPLETELY wrong. She must use voodoo magic or something to get these caramels to be so soft and silky, but not sticky. It is AMAZING! I made Jacob try them because he was wondering why I was freaking out about the caramels. I only let Jacob try a small corner, because let’s face it, when something is this good, who wants to share?! Not me! Once he tried them he completely understood what all the fuss was about. He said they were the best caramels he has ever tasted and for once I totally agree with him! (Jacob, take note of this time, it may never happen again!) Haha!!
Even though I hate to share with Jacob, I thought these nuggets were too delicious to not share with my followers! I am giving away 4, did you see that? , 4 sampler packs of caramels to 4 of my amazing followers.
More of TheCaramelJar's creations. How cute would this be for a wedding favor? They have on little ties! So Cute!HOW TO ENTER:
